Members of the Sea Containers 1983 Pension Scheme will now receive benefits well in excess of PPF benefits! Through a complex legal journey, involving the Pension Regulator, a Chapter 11 case in the US, and litigation in the UK, we’ve successfully ensured that members receive benefits much closer to their original entitlements via the section 73 process. Thanks to this diligent effort, member entitlements have been secured with an insurer, marking the successful wind up of the scheme. We remain hopeful that the 1990 scheme will achieve similar success in a few years’ time.
