BDO Ireland is pleased to announce the release of our Economic Impact Assessment of the League of Ireland report, which highlights the league’s valuable contributions to the Irish economy and the positive impact on communities nationwide. In 2023, the League of Ireland contributed €164.7 million to the economy, supporting over 6,000 jobs and generating €40 million in tax revenue. The report showcases record attendance growth of 19.5% and a strong rise in fan engagement, reflecting the league's increasing popularity and influence across Ireland. With €38.1 million in revenue and €10.1 million invested in stadiums and facilities, the league supports local businesses, drives regional development, and strengthens community engagement. The SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division experienced the largest attendance growth, rising by 169%, emphasising the league’s role in advancing both men’s and women’s football.
