We are Planet Passionate 🌍 Through our Group-wide Planet Passionate programme, we set ambitious targets to help realise our climate goals and mission to accelerate a net-zero emissions future built environment with the wellbeing of people and planet at its heart. Earlier this year, we launched our fourth annual Planet Passionate sustainability report, which outlined the important progress we have made since the programme began in 2020, including: 🌍 A 65% absolute reduction in scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions since 2020 base year [1] ☀️ Solar PV systems installed on nearly half of our wholly owned sites by the end of 2023, taking our total solar PV capacity to 42MW 🏢 3 lower embodied carbon innovations brought to market in 2023, plus our first bio-based insulation product 🗑️ A 33% reduction in waste sent to landfill since 2020 ♻️ 858m PET bottles recycled into our manufacturing processes in 2023 alone, enough to fill over 1,100 football pitches [2] Thanks to everyone that has contributed to our Planet Passionate journey so far! Visibility, I suspect, is a massive part of why we see para sport starting to grow over the past number of years. It has been something I’ve been turning my attention towards more and more recently. If I’m going to talk the talk then I’m definitely going to walk the walk and help support when I can. On Saturday Her Moves and Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) hosted an event that allowed young women to experience archery, basketball and tennis - and where there’s archery you’ll probably find me there too. This event serves as a reminder that every small effort counts and that together, we can make a significant difference. 🌳 At Kingspan, we believe in the power of collective action. This initiative is part of our broader environmental strategy - The Planet Passionate Programme, which includes reducing carbon footprint and supporting conservation efforts. 🌳 In an inspiring display of environmental stewardship, Phu My's employees from various departments came together for a Tree Planting Day. Together we planted 50 trees along the edge which are Almond, Porcelain, Mango, ... demonstrating commitment to sustainability and the health of our working place.
