We are racing towards the finish line today the Paralympic Games in Paris. On the last day of the competition, two Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) athletes finally get their moment to compete. This morning, at 10.53 am (Irish Time) Mary Fitzgerald will compete in the F40 Shot Put Final at the Stade de France. At 4 pm, Para Powerlifting legend, Britney Ardense will compete in the up to 79kg final. If you don't know Britney, the Irish Independent has published a preview article on her in today's edition, (pictured below). Yesterday, the highs and lows of sport were truly experienced at our Para Cyclists as Ireland's Ronan Grimes endured a technical fault and the powerhouse that is Katie George Dunlevy and pilot, Linda Kelly, missed out on gold by just three seconds. some photos from my recent trip with Paralympics Ireland Futures Programme. we met with Thomas Byrne minister for sport also.
