In this week's #TechEdForGood video, Dr Ciarán O'Leary, Head of Teaching and Learning for the Faculty of Computing, Digital and Data, TU Dublin in Technological University Dublin describes some of the supports available to students when they join the first year of a programme in the Faculty. These supports include the TU Dublin Computing Learning Centre, the Mathematics Learning Centre, the Transitions Coordinator and the Extended Induction Programme. These supports assist students in having an equitable experience in first year, regardless of their background before they came to College, thus helping reduce inequalities. The roadshow showcases the opportunities to travel to Ireland to study at one of our highly sought-after Universities 🎓 The School of Mathematics & Statistics represented the Faculty of Computing, Digital and Data, TU Dublin and was also joined by representatives of the TU Dublin Graduate Business School. There was very significant interest in the programmes within Mathematics, Statistics and Computing and within Business and enthusiasm for Technological University Dublin. Today, Róisín Faherty (Head of Research and Innovation) and Ciarán O'Leary (Head of Teaching and Learning) and were delighted to present Paul Price with a brand-new laptop as the winner of the 2023-24 #TechEdforGood Final Year Project Competition! (generously supported by TU Dublin Sustainability, with thanks to Head of Sustainability Education Brian Gormley). Paul, a recent graduate of the BSc (Honours) Computing programme on our Blanchardstown campus, completed an impressive project centered on application accessibility. Today Paul demonstrated his innovative work to students who are just starting their project journeys and shared valuable insights on how sustainable development is becoming a key priority for businesses and employers alike. In this week's #TechEdForGood video, Tom Nolan, a Lecturer in the TU Dublin - School of Informatics and Cybersecurity, describes TU Dublin's Learn+Work programme in Networking Technologies. This is a collaborative initiative aiming to address skill shortages in high-tech industries by providing industry-led training and upskilling. The program, launched in 2016, combines elements of apprenticeship programmes and higher education, catering to industry demands for work-ready graduates.
