The future of AI assisted cancer surgery

About us

CLASSICA is an EU-funded project looking at how to deploy cancer classification AI technology in the operating theatre. We will clinically validate a novel AI-guided intraoperative decision-support technology across several clinics, surgical teams, and countries. Our technology will differentiate between cancerous and non-cancerous tissues in real-time. The project involves 11 partners from 9 countries across Europe, with expertise in colorectal cancer, precision surgery, AI and technology, biomedical law and ethics, surgical training, and surgical guidelines. Partners of the CLASSICA project: - University College Dublin (UCD) - Coordinator - IRCAD - The European Association for Endoscopic Surgery (EAES) - Pintail - University of Copenhagen (UCPH) - University of Turin (UNITO) - Ziekenhuis Oost-Limburg (ZOL) - Arctur - VU University Medical Center (VUmc) - Penn State Dickinson Law - KH Barmherzige Brüder Graz CLASSICA is funded by the European Union.
