🌍️African Immersion Experience 🌍️ A group of 17 Poetry students will travel in early April to Lesotho to support the Malealea Development Trust. Ahead of their journey to Lesotho all participants fundraise for the Trust. All travelling costs have been covered by the students and their families so all the proceeds from fundraising will go directly to the Trust and the Basotho people in need. The trust focuses on work to improve for the health and wellbeing of the people in the valley of Malealea, care for orphans and vulnerable children, support the local primary schools and educate adults, as well as foster community development. 🎉 Celebrating 5 years 🎉⁠ ⁠ The Alberto Hurtado Endowment Fund, launched on January 28, 2020, aspires to make Clongowes' bursary program self-sustaining. ⁠ ⁠ Five years on, we celebrate the Fund's progress and express our gratitude to all who have supported it since its inception. ⁠ ⁠ Around 10% of Clongowes' boys are fully funded (tuition and boarding fees) by the Alberto Hurtado Fund - delivering access to an outstanding living and learning environment to boys who would likely otherwise never have such an opportunity.⁠ ⁠ Students receiving the bursary are not selected based on academic, sporting or musical abilities. The Clongowes gym has had a major re-fit! The new layout and equipment is proving even more popular with students. 🎨 Clongowes Fine Art Exhibition 🎨 Parents, OCs and students are warmly invited to The Clongowes Annual Fine Art Exhibition which runs from Sunday 24th November to December 8th in the 1999 building (front foyer). The exhibition is unique in that all the artists have some connection to Clongowes. Exhibitors include OCs, parents, teachers, aunts, uncles, grandparents and the students themselves. 🖌️ Professional and semi-professional artists exhibit with amateur and emerging artists and all disciplines are accepted which makes for a wonderfully varied and thrilling show. 🖼️ This year we have an exciting lineup of traditional and contemporary works including artists like Michael Mulcahy, Ann Mina, Jacinta Crowley-Long, Andrzej Mazur, Siobhan Cox Carlos and Donal Murray together with photographer Daniel O'Neill and sculptor Ani Mollereau.
