  • It would seem that customs compliance is one of the most complex and pressing issues for all companies and individuals involved in global trade. But is it really? Is there a widespread understanding of the importance of being aware of customs laws and regulations and keeping up to date with the frequent changes and innovations? The recent discussion at the CustomsClear Authors' Meeting showed that there are many problems with understanding and awareness of customs and trade compliance among traders. Many of these issues are similar across countries. A summary of the discussion is available at the link https://lnkd.in/empzX4Rm We are pleased that CKI members Enrika Naujokė and Boryana Peycheva participated in the event and shared their insights. • In June 2024, the EU took another step towards building a climate-neutral and circular economy and a greener environment. This is the adoption of the Ecodesign for Product Sustainability Regulation. The purpose of these innovations is declared to be quite noble - to increase product durability, reliability, maintainability, modernisation, reusability and recyclability, as well as to reduce waste generation and overall negative environmental impact. If you want to know what the new ecodesign initiative is all about, whether it will affect your business, and what role customs will play in monitoring compliance with the new requirements, read a new article by CKC Director Anthony (Tony) Buckley. The article is available on the CustomsClear platform. The link to read https://lnkd.in/eMv3uCFy. #customsknowledgeinstitute #article #sustainability #ecodesign #customs
