👉 Join us on Friday 25 October at 10am as we mark Public Service Transformation Week with a webinar — Values in Action: the ‘give and take’ of being part of the Department of Transport, hosted by Yvonne White, Corporate Assistant Secretary and Lorraine Crawford, Head of People, Capability and Change. ✔️ In serving the public, instilling Civil Service and Departmental values has never been more important, considering the changing context introduced by hybrid working, rapid technological advancements, and evolving societal expectations. 📝 The event, which is open to Civil and Public Service including agencies and local authorities, will explore how the Department of Transport is cultivating an employee experience that embodies our core values, carefully balancing the benefits that employees receive with the expectations that we place on them — 'the give and take’. 🔗 Please register here: https://bit.ly/3zY2tWR #BetterPublicServices | #TransformationWeek | Department of Transport

🏆 We are proud to announce that the Department of Transport has won the Best Public Sector HR Initiative for our Values in Action initiative at the HR Leadership & Management Awards last week. 👏 It is a significant achievement following the receipt of the HR Champions Change Management Award last year. It reflects a huge team effort as we work at every level across the Department to ensure that our culture and values guide everything we do in the public interest. 👉 The purpose of the Values in Action initiative was to seek examples and stories of how our staff are embedding and living our values of Public Service Ethos, Ambition, Collaboration, and Quality and Delivery. We received 31 outstanding applications from across the Department demonstrating that not only are our values understood but how they have been embedded into ways of working. Twelve entries were shortlisted with five winners being announced at the all-staff awards ceremony in June hosted by our Secretary General Ken Spratt. ✨ This has been the culmination of several initiatives as part of the Departments culture and values journey over the past three years. We remain committed to enhancing the employee experience to ensure that not only do we attract, but also retain the best staff. 🎉 A huge congratulations to everyone involved with special recognition to our exceptional and dedicated HR team Yvonne White Lorraine Crawford Tom Anderson Eoin Deasy Déanna Foy Jennifer McManus 🏆👏 🙌 #HRLeadership #ValuesInAction #EmployeeExperience #Culture #StaffEngagement #Collaboration #Ambition✨️
