Most insurance and similiar organizations share documents using with a PDF secured with a PIN. This is not only slow & time consuming, it's also insecure as the default password is usually linked to the customers DOB. A better and more secure customer experience is a secure portal which authenticates the customer so no Pin or passwords needed on individual documents. Just drop in a PDF or other document and it's automatically secured in the portal. Plus as the portals are conversational it's not only for documents but messages or conversations with your customer. #portals #insurance #investments #hnw

Yesterday, I presented at a security and privacy event to highlight how much sensitive data we share or make public, often without realizing the potential impact. I used the humble resume or CV as an example. We see them everywhere—on public networks like LinkedIn, sent via email, uploaded to countless services with little emphasis on security. Let's dissect a typical (perhaps extreme 😉) resume and its potential data: your photo, name, home address, date of birth, email address, home or mobile number. To a malicious actor, this information is like a jackpot. With just some of this data, they can commit: - Identity Theft: Credit card fraud, loans, government services, healthcare fraud - Phishing and Social Engineering - Account Hijacking/Email Compromise - Doxing: Publishing your personal information online, making you vulnerable to harassment or threats - Fraudulent Purchases and Services: Signing up for services in your name, sticking you with the bill - Mail Fraud: Redirecting your mail or intercepting postal communications, potentially gaining access to sensitive information like bank statements - Social Media and Online Reputation Manipulation - Stalking and Harassment. We got your photo, home address, mobile so it's easy to find and harrass you. - Sim Swap Fraud Scary, isn't it? And all from a simple resume or CV that sits unprotected for many years. Awareness of the impact is the first step; securing your data and being selective about sharing it is crucial. As that famous TV line goes "Be careful out there". I used a resume as an example but sensitive data is shared everywhere - Minimise your data, secure where possible, be hesitant when uploading ID docs, delete it when no longer of use. #identityfraud #breach #resume #cv DropVault #infosec

Most businesses can share internally and have the data protection and monitoring to secure their sensitive data. But the risks increase when you need to share or discuss securely and privately with external clients or vendors. Email is one solution but has a lot of friction and sharing with larger teams with different email systems brings even more friction - And this friction means your team or their team will take shortcuts and increase the risks. Making it simpler for your team to share and discuss securely with any team, contact or business is critical to keeping your most sensitive data secure and private. Secure channels where the business team can control sharing and access without the need for IT Teams and where encryption is the default and never a choice. #collabortion #fintech #legaltech #dataroom https://lnkd.in/emPxiGT3

Keeping your secrets secret. - Some discussions don't belong in email. It's not encrypted by default, a simple mistake on a CC or Reply can have big repercussions especially when teams get busy and distracted - And your sensitive data will sit in an inbox for many years unprotected. Maybe it's time to secure your most sensitive discussions? That's where secure collaboration rooms work great - Discuss, share documents with automatic dynamic watermarking, assign and track tasks, sign off and vote on decisions and share securely with your team, external advisors or teams in other businesses - All encrypted by default and with some of the best security on the planet. #dataroom #collaboration #infosec https://lnkd.in/emPxiGT3

There are many times in a business where you need a sign off or approval but don't need to complexity of a formal & time consuming document with a signature page. You just need a quick "give us your ok to proceed with this". So why can't you share a message or conversation, maybe with documents and just request a sign off or signature from your customer, vendor or employee? No complex signature page, no document to create and upload to a some 3rd party service. And it can be a single signature or multiple internal or external contacts. #esignature #signoff #projects

There are many ways to secure data better, to reduce the risk to your business and your customers, to reduce the costs from litigation and insurance but one of the best and most effective is to simply ENCRYPT YOUR DATA! It's the last line of defense and also one of the best. And it not only provides much better security but also greatly improves privacy - And we all want that. #infosec #privacy https://dropvault.app

Dealing with contracts or deals can be a real headache, right? Too many emails, threads, and attachments piling up. Finding that document from last week? Good luck with that! And keeping track of tasks and who’s doing what? It’s a mess, and delays are almost guaranteed. This old-school way of managing deals just isn’t cutting it. Everything gets jumbled up in your inbox. But what if you could move all those discussions, documents, and tasks to a dedicated space? A place where your team can focus on the deal, chat, give feedback, and get things done without distractions. You could assign tasks, request approvals, and keep all the documents organized. Plus, this space would keep your deal secure and private with top-notch security and encryption. Email is for messaging, not managing your deals. https://lnkd.in/emPxiGT3 #dataroom #contracts #deals

How does an IT team share API keys and secrets with other team members or another business? They create secure, encrypted key vaults and share with teams. One vault can be shared with vendors while others have limited access to inside the business only . Every Dropvault account has a shared secrets vault that can store and share passwords, API keys or secrets that are encrypted and secured but also have flexible sharing and access. It means you never have to share passwords or API keys in a file and there is only ever one copy. #keyvault #secrets

Cybersecurity tools can be expensive, often placing them beyond the financial reach of many small and medium-sized businesses. Moreover, the costs do not end with the initial purchase; training, implementation, and other associated expenses can quickly accumulate. We help businesses, especially #SMBs by integrating six exceptional security solutions into a single platform. This streamlines the process for businesses to deploy additional solutions as needed, without the overhead of implementing a new product or solution each time. Cyber security doesn't have to be complicated and expensive. #infosec #cybersec
