About us
The mission of The Dublin Rape Crisis Centre is to prevent the harm and heal the trauma of rape and other forms of sexual violence. Our work to prevent sexual violence includes delivery of BodyRight, our sexual violence prevention programme for young people; policy work; research; and awareness raising campaigns. When sexual violence does occur, the DRCC is there to support those affected with a National 24-Hour Helpline (1800 77 8888), counselling and therapy, and accompaniment services. To ensure that the needs of survivors of sexual violence are met, we also provide training to professionals working in the area of trauma, and for critical service providers. 70 Lower Leeson Street Dublin 2. Our Chief Executive Rachel Morrogh writes for The Irish Times: 'One handwritten message came from a survivor of childhood sexual abuse in a religious-run school. It reads, “I know a safe place you can tell your story.” The fact that in the past there was no safe place for him to talk chimes with what Archbishop of Dublin Dermot Farrell is reported to have said on US television during the week: “There was a culture of denial, a culture of covering up, a culture of silencing, ignoring.” Dublin Rape Crisis Centre believes in a future where there is no shame, there is no isolation and there is no stigma.’ Find out more about the Signs of Hope campaign at www.drcc.ie/signsofhope https://lnkd.in/eUZVBwaW Anne Marie James Eoghan Cleary Síona Cahill MPRII Fergus Finlay Nikki Gallagher Aibhlin McCrann

When you're ready to talk, we're ready to listen. Ciara Mangan and Chris Rooke spoke to Alison O'Reilly this week, discussing their messages of hope to survivors of sexual violence. The 'Signs of Hope' written by eight survivors encourage those who have not reached out for support to call the National 24-hour Helpline. You can read all the messages at www.drcc.ie/signsofhope ☎ National Helpline 1800 77 8888 Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/eC75wTC5

When you’re ready to talk, we’re ready to listen. Today at Dublin Rape Crisis Centre, we launch our ‘Signs of Hope’ campaign. This campaign connects survivors who have accessed and benefitted from support with people who have experienced the trauma of sexual violence but who have never sought support. 'Signs of Hope’ is centred on a message of empowerment from survivors of sexual violence, penned in their own handwriting. Many of these lines are part of longer open letters written by the survivors engaged in the campaign to offer solidarity and support to other survivors. The free, 24-hour National Rape Crisis Helpline 1800 77 88 88 is open 7 days a week, whenever you need to talk. Find out more and hear from the amazing survivors at www.drcc.ie/signsofhope
