About us

EchoStar Mobile has designed a single pan-European S-band LoRa® IoT network, providing bi-directional, real-time connectivity to LoRa® sensors across the coverage with no additional infrastructure required. Our seamless coverage and LoRa® network design ensure that users across Europe, the UK, and Scandinavia do not need cumbersome roaming agreements to achieve ubiquitous service continuity across geographic regions, making it ideal for mobile customers or those customers with widely distributed sites. Our dual-mode terrestrial and satellite module design means devices integrating with our LoRa® module can connect to local terrestrial networks if required. As a member of the LoRa Alliance®, we are focused on ensuring our LoRa® module works seamlessly with the existing ecosystem, making it easy to integrate our network into existing projects and making the ideal technology choice for deployments where coverage and infrastructure make adopting LoRa® problematic.

  • 🌟 Welcome back to IoT in Action, our weekly series exploring how satellite IoT helps solve challenges and unlock new opportunities for a wide range of industries. This week, we're taking a closer look at how satellite IoT supports disaster early warning & monitoring in remote regions. 🚨 Unfortunately, natural disasters are becoming more frequent and severe. Wildfires in southern Europe and flooding in remote Alpine valleys are just two examples of natural disasters that are on the increase and leading to devastating effects. With events like these in rural, mountainous, or hard-to-reach regions, detecting early warning signs becomes a challenge. That’s where satellite IoT can make a difference, delivering real-time monitoring even in areas with no terrestrial connectivity. For example: 🔥 Wildfire Detection & Prevention IoT sensors monitor metrics such as temperature, CO2 and humidity levels, sending alerts via satellite when abnormalities are detected and allowing emergency teams to react before wildfires spread out of control. Our partners, Dryad Networks and ForestGuard offer wildfire monitoring solutions that are proving hugely valuable in the protection of forests and their surrounding areas. 🌊 Flood & Landslide Monitoring  Satellite-connected IoT sensors track rising water levels, ground movement, and extreme weather conditions, providing crucial early alerts to at-risk communities. For example, our partner, Dales Land Net, implements this technology to create a cost-effective method for predicting floods in remote areas that are out of reach of terrestrial connectivity. 🏔️ Avalanche Prediction & Monitoring We can also deploy IoT sensors to measure snow depth, temperature fluctuations, and seismic activity, helping to predict avalanches before they happen. In high-risk ski areas and remote alpine routes, real-time avalanche warnings can prevent serious disasters. 💡 These are just three examples of how satellite IoT can be leveraged to protect assets and neighbourhoods, reduce damage and save lives.
