Textbook retrofit of a derelict stable in Co. Kerry, aligning with the 2024 'Improving Energy Efficiency in Traditional Buildings' guidance document. This project had numerous challenges from the outset: structurally unsound stone walls, inadequate perimeter drainage, a rotting roof, and a hard cement render. Architect Sean MacGillicuddy B. Arch. FRIAI took an environmentally conscious approach by repurposing and adapting this old building, incorporating low-carbon principles and resource-efficient new elements. #CaseStudy #StableRetrofit #BarnRetrofit #TraditionalBuilding #VernacularHeritage #BuiltHeritage #StoneWall DIASEN | Certified B Corp Gutex pro clima - MOLL bauökologische Produkte GmbH Thermafleece 📌 Ned O’Shea Construction 📌 Sean MacGillicuddy B.
