What an incredible morning we had with Cian O'Toole, Astrophysicist and PhD student, presenting his talk "Worlds Beyond Our Own" as part of Space Week 2024! Our Transition Year student visitors who joined us today as part of our TY Group Visit programme, were thrilled to learn about Space and beyond. The recent debate resurfaced during our Q&A session as we delved into whether Pluto should still be considered a planet! #WSW24 Pictured from left to right Ailís O'Carroll Ph.D, Head of Scientific Community Explorium, Cian O'Toole, Astrophysicist and Mark Langtry Head of Sport & Science Explorium

Explorium collaborates with the Olympic Federation of Ireland and Paralympics Ireland, Paris Games 2024. We are thrilled to be collaborating this summer with the Olympic Federation of Ireland and Paralympic Ireland, to celebrate the Paris Games 2024, showcasing our Irish athletes, with a visual exhibition in Explorium! We are so proud and excited to feature our incredible Irish athletes and diverse range of competitions that Team Ireland is competing in - at the highest level, in the National Sport and Science centre. We believe that “seeing is believing”, and people of all ages can see how inclusive and inspiring the Olympic and Paralympic games are first hand in Explorium. To launch our Team Ireland exhibition we were delighted to host an event recently with the French Embassy, the OFI and Paralympic’s Ireland.  We were exceptionally honoured the Paris 2024 Chef de Mission Gavin Noble (OFI), President of Paralympics Ireland Eimear Breathnach PLY, and the French Ambassador Vincent GUEREND attended, and were inspired by their uplifting and insightful speeches, support and enthusiasm for the collaboration. We were also delighted to welcome 200 embassy and cultural centre staff from the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) Network and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sports and Media on the day. We are looking forward to continuing our partnership with the Olympic Federation of Ireland and Paralympics Ireland and would like to thank Kevin Keane, OFI and Derek Kinnevey, Paralympics Ireland, for their invaluable support in delivering the exhibition alongside our incredible brand design lead Lucy Patterson. #SeeingisBelieving #Olympics #Paralympics #Paris2024 #EUNIC #STEAM #explorium

Thank you Neale, we are so excited to be back! It is wonderful to see so many happy faces, giggles and laughter in Junior Explorium https://lnkd.in/ed8Gz_yF

Explorium is back, delighted to visit this wonderful facility following the reopening of the junior this week while the senior section will reopen in late Spring. Explorium is a brilliant resource for not just our community but all of Ireland; I’ve no doubt the massive improvements to the Blackglen Road and the hundreds of new homes will masker it even more popular. I look forward to bringing many of my Ministerial colleagues to visit as I’m convinced this would be a really super national science museum and education centre.
