This week we are going green, and spotlighting our portfolio’s sustainability efforts, having recently been awarded the Greengage ECOsmart certification! So let’s talk sustainability at Killashee Hotel: 🌿 Killashee Hotel has been awarded the Gold Green Tourism Award in 2024! This prestigious recognition reflects their ongoing commitment to sustainability and partnership with Green Tourism to promote greener business practices.   At Killashee, they are continuously working to reduce their environmental footprint through various initiatives. Highlights include: 🌞 Solar Power: In 2024, they are investing in a solar array with 488 solar panels, covering 20% of our electrical demand and offsetting over 60 tons of CO2 annually. 🌿Biodiversity: They support the increase of biodiversity by looking after their land, grounds, gardens and green areas in a sympathetic and appropriate way with 10 acres of land left for natural habitat. 🚗 EV Charging: Two Electric Vehicle Charging Units on the hotel grounds provided by the EasyGo. 💧 Energy & Water Efficiency: They’ve installed LED lighting, motion sensors, aerators, and a BMS system to monitor and reduce consumption. 🍽 Sustainable Dining: They have an emphasis on reducing food waste and their Executive Head Chef sources local ingredients wherever possible to reduce carbon footprint. They also have an onsite herb garden for their Chefs.    From their guest rooms to offices and facilities, they strive to reduce, reuse, and recycle. At Killashee, sustainability isn’t just a goal—it’s part of their ethos.
