A couple of weeks ago Glen Bambrick visited TUD to talk with students of the MSc in GIScience at TU Dublin about early stage careers, the GIS market in Ireland, and essential skills progression. Last month in our Postgraduate Diploma in #GIS at University College Cork in Geography Department, UCC we had Glen Bambrick of Final Draft Mapping come in to give a talk in our Guest Speaker Series. KEY MESSAGE TO GRADUATES: Make sure you work on your portfolio early on in your career to really demonstrate your range of geospatial skills. This does not always have to be associated with your professional job, so continue to upskill outside of professional settings, as this can really support you in landing that dream GIS role down the road. ANOTHER KEY MESSAGE TO ALL OF US(!): Make sure you keep asking yourself 'Am I learning' or 'Am I enjoying the GIS I'm working on'. The field is moving so rapidly, that ensuring you continue to enjoy your work while upskilling is critical to a long career. If not, do not be afraid to take a risk. It was great to chat with Glen, see the range of projects you have worked on over the years, and the students were really exposed to the realities and nuances of a career in geospatial. Almost 90 minutes of discussion without slides is a testament to that! Great talk Glen Bambrick! The students, William Durkan, Fiona Cawkwell and myself learnt an awful lot. Thanks!

As of the latest version of the ArcGIS API for Python (2.4.0) there is still no method for accessing domain information for fields for hosted feature services in ArcGIS Online.
