🎬 This week, Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland was delighted to join Atticus Education & Northern Ireland Screen to celebrate five years of the Puttnam Scholars programme. Each year, eight emerging filmmakers from the island of Ireland are invited to join Oscar-winning producer David Puttnam for a series of high-level masterclasses aimed at developing a filmmaker's vision, build creative resilience & foster cultural collaboration. Scholars also receive a bursary to support their continued professional development. This year's selected scholars were: • Claire Frances Byrne – Director / Writer selected by Screen Ireland • Ian Hunt-Duffy – Director selected by Screen Ireland • Cara Loftus – Writer selected by Screen Ireland • Colin Thornton – Writer / Producer selected by Screen Ireland • Eoin Cleland – Director / Writer selected by Northern Ireland Screen • Sarah Gordon – Director / Writer selected by Northern Ireland Screen • Nicky Larkin – Director / Writer / Documentary Maker selected by Northern Ireland Screen • Suzanne McNally – Producer selected by Northern Ireland Screen To mark the fifth iteration of the highly successful cross-border initiative, this year's scholars joined David Puttnam, director Lenny Abrahamson & producer Ed Guiney for an inspiring conversation on the power of creative storytelling, facilitated by programme partners Accenture Song / Droga5 Dublin. Following the talk, the scholars were invited for a special lunch reception at Glencairn House courtesy of British Embassy Dublin & British Council Ireland.
