📢 Galway Chamber Shares Insights in Business Post ‘Looking West’ Special Report 📢 Galway Chamber provided an overview of Galway’s business landscape for the Business Post’s Looking West: Galway City & County special report! From booming sectors like MedTech, tourism, and creative industries to the challenges around infrastructure and regional balance, Galway remains an exciting place to live, work, and grow. As Deirdre Mac Loughlin, Interim CEO of Galway Chamber, highlighted, “With many industry sectors thriving, including MedTech and technology, Galway’s innovation hubs are fostering growth for companies looking to scale internationally and for multinationals seeking a base in Ireland.” Talent is another key attraction. “The availability of talent, particularly STEM graduates, is a big draw for industry,” Mac Loughlin noted, emphasizing the important role of university partnerships and a robust R&D ecosystem that have drawn global MedTech companies to Galway. But challenges remain. “The Galway Chamber has voiced concerns around regional balance and the growing disparity between where people live and work,” Mac Loughlin explained. “We are working closely with local councils to address these issues and promote sustainable development.” Representing the interests of approximately 500 companies employing 30,000 across the region, Galway Chamber is well positioned to be the leading voice of the Galway business community. “With Galway as the only city in the Western region there is an imperative for the Chamber to keep the focus on Galway in order to drive prosperity in the city, county and into the four corners of the West and beyond,” said Cait Noone FIHI, President, Galway Chamber.
