Galway Film Fleadh have launched their 2024 programme for their youth strand GENERATION Fleadh and I’m buzzing from the response it has received. 🐝 Holly Buckley, Generation Programmer, approached me with an idea for this years festival and we came up with a cover design to encapsulate the joy and hardships of growing up: “This years cover art pays homage to early cinema’s ability to abstract the body through moving images. In this interpretation, the abstraction is represented by flowers blooming from dancing figures, symbolising the pains and joys of growing up, as well as the evolving identities that flourish during this transformative period.” 🌺 As always, it is a joy to work Galway Film Fleadh and I want to thank them (especially to Miriam Allen, Maeve McGrath and Holly Buckley) for entrusting me again with this years programme. 👏 They have curated an excellent selection of local talent as well as many international films and workshops so make sure to check it out at galwayfilmfleadh.ie and buy tickets 🎟️ 📸: Cleo McKeon Burke
