𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞, 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐦 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭, 𝐃𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐧 Lioncor is thrilled to have completed the six storey LEED Gold Europe House on Chatham Street, Dublin 2 consisting of 3,000 sq.m of office, exhibition, conference and education space. The project located just off Grafton Street was logistically challenging for all involved as the site is surrounding by a busy one way road system and included a hoarding line just 1 metre from the buildings façade making coordination of deliveries along with traffic and pedestrian management a daily event for the construction team. Designed by Henry J Lyons and built by Flynn Construction, Europe House is the new European Union Liaison Office in Dublin. Along with enhanced office space Europe House also includes the Europa Experience, the aim of which is to educate visitors in relation to the EU’s work. The interactive experience will include cutting edge multimedia stations and a 360-degree cinema at basement level which will allow visitors to participate in a plenary session of the parliament or take part in a role-play game as a Member of the European Parliament or as an EU commissioner. The design of the building is defined by its red brick façade which mirrors the historic Weights and Measures Office on Harry Street that sits directly behind it. The attractive red brick includes architectural feature panels and is punctuated by large windows which form window boxes on the upper floors. The building steps upwards as you move away from Chatham Street enabling the introduction of terraces on the 4th and 5th floors. The project also included a full internal fit out with CAT-b installed to the office spaces, staff facilities and meeting rooms. Ronan Group Real Estate is delighted to announce it has sought planning permission for the next phase at its Waterfront South Central site. This is the last undeveloped City Block in Dublin’s Docklands. The plans consist of circa 1.5m sq. ft. of Grade A office and residential space, including 550 apartments and a 25-storey residential tower that will front on to the River Liffey. This space aims to finish off RGRE’s Waterfront site, where it is already on-site building Citi’s new headquarters.   The residential units will be expertly managed by RGRE’s residential operations platform, Libra Living, which has proven to be a great success at Spencer Place. The commercial element of this planning application consists of 2 Grade-A office blocks, totalling 373,000 sq. ft.   The plans will constitute the third largest mixed-use project in the capital after the Glass Bottle project fronting onto Sandymount Strand and the Spencer Dock development just upstream on North Wall Quay. A design notable for its simplicity, integration of green spaces, and fluid lines that complement the movement of buses. The Bus Connects Plaza located at Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, features two remarkable canopies, offering a convenient and aesthetically pleasing experience for commuters. Octatube realised the 130-metre-long canopy for buses and the 250-metre-long canopy for pedestrians, designed by Henry J Lyons. The core of the canopies is partially open, providing space for planters and trees that add to the overall experience. In other places, the core is closed off at the top, with greenery on the roof. Three waiting areas are located in these enclosed sections. Vertical glass panels between the concrete substructure and ceiling provide shelter from wind and rain. Horizontal glass panels with structurally glued (anodised) aluminium profiles hang from the steel core. The glass has a translucent interlayer: lighting from above provides a uniformly luminous glass surface, giving it a warm appearance in the evening. Production was carried out in our workshop where we fabricated the complete steel structure and bonded the glass structurally. Additionally, we integrated the rainwater drainage system within the structure prior to its transport to the building site.
