We’re speaking as thousands of voices as one and we have one request: We are asking world leaders to hashtag #BeBoldOnBuildings at #COP29 Azerbaijan. 👇
We’re speaking as thousands of voices as one and we have one request: We are asking world leaders to #BeBoldOnBuildings at COP29 Azerbaijan. The building and construction sector is not on track to reduce its emissions in line with a 1.5°C pathway. But the sector holds immense potential for climate action, offering over 40% of the solutions needed to double energy intensity improvements by 2030. So, how can we get there? Our global Green Building Council (GBC) network represents countries covering 62% of global GDP and 60% of the world’s building stock, with over 48,000 private sector members. Our call is united. It’s time and we need to #BeBoldOnBuildings. We need sector specific and tangible action on the built environment at the centre of every country’s climate plan and policies. Organisations from up and down the building value chain at global, regional and local levels are urging immediate action on buildings. Read why this is a pivotal moment for the #builtenvironment here: https://bit.ly/3O3xWKo Join us in our call to #BeBoldOnBuildings. Share this post or comment with your solutions below. Let’s ensure decision-makers at #COP29 hear our call to action. #BuildingTheTransition #BuildingToCOP #BuildingToCOP29

UNMISSABLE GREEN HOMES + FINANCE EVENT Passive House Plus is part of the EU-funded Smarter Finance for EU consortium, which is aiming to unlock, oh, just €100bn worth of certified green homes across Europe. And we're coming to Dublin. On Friday 15 November, our partners at Irish Green Building Council are hosting the Smarter Finance for EU Better Homes Conference, with a line-up of expert thinkers and do-ers from around Europe on the conference theme of innovation and finance for greener housing. This will be followed by a round table discussion on Green, Healthy and Affordable Housing for all, with invited international guests from Ukraine, Portugal, Spain and Ireland – including financial institutions and municipal councils interested in financing sustainable homes and increasing cooperation. Someone even had the objectively terrible idea of asking me to moderate a panel discussion, which will explore how hybrid finance options can be use to unlock green affordable housing. Get your ticket and find out more on a jam-packed line-up here: https://lnkd.in/d45eHwqJ #greenhomes #greendesign #SMARTER4EU #SMARTERfinance #LIFEproject #LIFEprogramme #LIFEAmplifier #EnergyTransition #CleanEnergyEU #CINEA #SustainableFinanceEU #GreenFinance #ClimateFinance
