Reflecting on a successful Lunch & Learn session with Waystone in Cashel yesterday, it's clear that such initiatives are invaluable for the industry. 🥪 Pat Lardner, Irish Funds' CEO led the session, which covered the #development of the industry, the wide range of work we are doing to support future #growth and how all those that work in member firms across the country can stay plugged into what we are doing and add to their professional development. 🙌 We want to extend a thank you to Aislinn O'Keeffe for organising and to James Allis, Nick Wheeler, Vanora Madigan (a member of our Council) and the entire team for hosting us. Thanks also to Michelle Aylward of County Tipperary Chamber and Anthony Fitzgerald of Tipperary County Council for coming along. Looking ahead, we're excited to bring this experience to more member firms. For those interested in hosting future sessions, please contact Jennifer Reilly at jennifer.reilly@irishfunds.ie. #IrishFunds #MemberEngagement #LunchandLearn #Engagement #Collaboration

📢 Irish Funds' response to the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) call for evidence on the review of the Eligible Assets Directive was submitted to ESMA last week, on 7 August. The response was prepared by the Irish Funds Eligible Assets Project Group with input from our working group structure. ❗ Key highlights of our submission: 1. #Harmonisation across the EU: We highlighted the need for regulatory harmonisation across EU member states, ensuring a level playing field and fostering a more integrated European financial market. 2. Advocacy for #clarity and #flexibility: We emphasised the need for clear definitions and guidelines that accommodate the evolving nature of financial instruments, ensuring that #UCITS can continue to offer diverse and innovative investment opportunities. 3. #Investor protection: Our response underlines the importance of maintaining high standards of investor protection, ensuring that UCITS remain a trusted and secure option for retail investors. 4. Support for #innovation: We advocate for regulations that support innovation within the UCITS framework, allowing for the development of new products that meet the changing needs of investors. Ultimately the UCITS brand must be protected and maintained whilst ensuring that it evolves with the market to remain suitable and competitive. This submission marks a significant step forward in our ongoing efforts to contribute to the shaping of regulatory frameworks that support the growth and innovation of the funds and asset management industry. ➡ Read our full response on our Member Portal: https://lnkd.in/ekgX-SkA Stay tuned for further updates, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to discuss our submission in more detail.
