The 2023 Planning and Development Bill was passed by Dáil Éireann in June but has yet to be passed by Seanad Éireann. The Oireachtas will return from Summer Recess this Wednesday 18th of September and the Minister has indicated that the passage of the Bill will be prioritised. A consolidated version of the Bill, reflecting amendments up to Committee Stage in Seanad Éireann has now been published. The accompanying Regulations to implement the new Bill are awaited. Planning Insight: Draft National Planning Framework (NPF) Revision - Population Projections The government published a draft revision of the National Planning Framework (NPF) in July 2024, with a closing date for submissions of 12th September. This Insight focuses on the changes in respect to population growth projections and identifies some matters for consideration before the update is finalised.
