As Road Safety Week gets underway, Kirby hosted Louise McGeever, Road Safety Promotions Officer from the Road Safety Authority, for an online talk on driving for work and encouraging safer driver behaviour. To reduce fatal car accidents and serious injuries, the key takeaways were: - Slow down - Do not use mobile phones and other devices - Wear seat belts - Don’t drive under the influence - Refrain from driving when tired; take regular rest breaks - Check your vehicle frequently – tyres, brakes, lights etc. - Give other road users respect and space particularly to motorcyclists, cyclists, and pedestrians - Motorcyclists, cyclists, and pedestrians - make sure you are visible We encourage everyone to drive safely and keep these messages in mind each time you get behind the wheel. #RoadSafety #RSA #StaySafe #SlowDown #BuckleUp #SlowDown #ZeroHarm #Safety #PeopleFirst #KirbyCoreValues

Kirby has entered the pre-commissioning stage of the 110kV/33kv Drombeg Solar Farm project in County Kerry for one of our valued clients, ESB Networks. Civil works for the 38kv Energia Substation adjacent to the 110kv compound are also progressing well with the transformer installation due in the next number of weeks. Kirby was proud to support the Peter McGlynn Memorial Cup Day which took place in Greenford, London last weekend. The family fun day, hosted by Tir Chonaill Gaels, featured GAA Go Games for U7 - U11 boys and girls, as well as the U13 boys Peter McGlynn Cup and U13 girls Kirby Cup. Kirby Operations Director, Hugh Nealon and Bernard Brogan, seven-time All-Ireland winner, presented the trophy to the winners. After five very successful years as CEO, Mark Flanagan will step down on January 1st, 2025, as part of a planned and structured transition of the CEO role. Succeeding him will be Henry McCann, who has been with Kirby since 2006 and served as Group Operations Director for the past five years. Under Mark’s guidance, Kirby has experienced significant growth, with over 1,800 employees and a projected turnover of €700m in 2024. Mark’s focus on operational excellence and core values has been instrumental to our success and he will continue supporting the company as Executive Director. Henry has played a key role in Kirby's expansion and the development of its organisational capabilities, notably leading the Kirby Way initiative. In his new role he is passionate about focusing on people and the further development of a Learning and Teaching Organisation and building strong partnerships that deliver real value to our clients. Kirby’s last eight years have been a stellar record of achievement and sustainable delivery and growth under the leadership of Jimmy Kirby and Mark Flanagan.
