At Cairn, how we build is of the utmost importance. Our innovative Technical Design Library ensures that as we construct, we consistently maintain the very highest levels of quality in every home. Our Library is our knowledge capital, which contains the collective design intelligence for our delivery platform. The catalogue is made available to and contributed to by our partners continuously through all projects. From planning and design through to manufacture and construction these experts work with us in refining the information, techniques and specifications that ensure the highest levels of excellence and ongoing improvement. An open approach to sharing our knowledge across disciplines within the construction sector is relatively unique to Cairn, and represents the value proposition of being a Cairn Partner. The work is a demonstration of our commitment to building sustainable communities where people can thrive. It's great to see the pace at which site works are progressing at the Cronin's Wood, a Large-Scale Residential Development near Killarney town centre, with 107 of 249 no. total units now under construction on the previously undeveloped brownfield site. This central location, enhanced by new access roads, provides linkage to all needed contemporary amenities, along with major transport networks and employment centres. A creche, accessible car and bicycle parking will also be provided. The residential units range between 1 and 5 bedrooms, hosted in a mixture of dwelling houses and maisonettes contained in 2-storey buildings to minimise visual disruption in this area of rich natural heritage. Environmental sensitivity is at the forefront of this complex development, placing foundations while maximally maintaining the existing site contours and sloping topography. A tree planting programme is arranged to enhance the ecological landscape and native hedgerows are to be planted to support local wildlife. This sensitive hard and soft landscaping will also provide eight separate open spaces to ensure easy access to amenity for all home-zones over the large site, while also integrating the community through pedestrian connectivity. #buildingtogether DOSA Consulting Engineers KPH Construction DKPInternational Down2Earth Landscape Design

We are delighted to announce the successful planning approval for the second phase of the Cairn Leixlip Gate housing development in Co. Kildare. Commencing on site in September 2024, this Large-Scale Residential Development (LRD) will deliver a total of 227 units, further enhancing housing availability in the Leixlip area. Ranging from one to four-bedroom houses, duplexes, and apartments, each unit has its own private open space, providing residents with a comfortable and adaptable living environment. One of the highlights of the planning approval is the provision for numerous landscaped open spaces throughout the development. These recreational areas, along with a public park adjacent to the new estate, have been meticulously designed to integrate with the native established mature landscape, enhancing the overall well-being and quality of life for residents. We look forward to our ongoing collaboration with Cairn to bring this vision to life. #buildingtogether #irishhomes

We are pleased to announce the completion of the conservation, refurbishment, and redevelopment of the former Dairygold offices at West End in Mallow Town Centre. The project, which was acquired by Focus Housing Association the AHB arm of Focus Ireland, represents a significant achievement in sustainable urban renewal and adaptive reuse. Three internally connected Protected Structures dating back to circa 1850 were sensitively restored in an Architectural Conservation Area. The redevelopment retained the characteristic external appearance of the structures while integrating contemporary interiors with original features, showcasing a commitment to sustainability and modern convenience. The project involved a partial change of use to residential, resulting in the creation of 13 dual-aspect apartment units that will be used for social homes. These comprise of two studio apartments, six one-bedroom units, and five two-bedroom units, catering to a variety of living arrangements. "An integral piece of Mallow’s architectural heritage was restored while providing functional and sustainable solutions, creating spaces that serve the community’s needs effectively."
