We'd love to hear your perspective on the synergy between medical science and actuarial science. In your opinion, what challenge (if any) stands to gain the most from their collaboration? 🤔 #Milliman #actuarialscience

🌎🌟 At Milliman, we are deeply committed to our mission: To serve our clients to protect the health and financial well-being of people everywhere. It serves as a constant reminder that our work is vital, because our clients depend on us to help them deliver on the promises they’ve made to their customers, patients, members, employees, and communities. 🌍🌟 In the spirit of the Milliman mission, we are thrilled to announce the launch of our new tagline: Solutions for a world at risk™. This simple phrase is intended to convey urgency, scale, and possibility: urgency, because the risks facing our clients — from extreme weather and market volatility to financial insecurity and rising health costs — are complex and fast-evolving; scale, because no region or population is exempt; and possibility, because with the right combination of vision, technology, and expertise, no risk is insurmountable. 🌏🌟 Over the next few weeks, we will be sharing “solution stories” that illustrate how we’ve collaborated with clients to unlock innovation, expand protection, and improve lives. We hope you will find these stories compelling and inspiring, and that you will join us in celebrating our shared commitment to accelerating solutions for a world at risk. The UNDP-Milliman GAIN Regulatory Roundtable in Malaysia was a deep dive into the role of actuaries in the insurance supervisory model and explore the regulatory actuarial function in the region! 🎉 Regulators across 15 countries came together - from Cambodia, Indonesia, India, Kazakhstan, Labuan, Macao, Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal, New Zealand, Oman, Philippines, Singapore, Solomon Islands and Sri Lanka. Why was this roundtable timely and critical? In many developing countries, the actuarial profession is not fully recognized, and most countries do not have a strong professional role for actuaries. The roundtable was a step in the right direction towards equipping regulators with a basic understanding of the regulatory role of actuaries and factors for considerations when defining such roles. A special appreciation to volunteers and collaborators for this event – the Bank Negara Malaysia, the International Actuarial Association, the Access to Insurance Initiative (A2ii) and The ASEAN Insurance Training and Research Institute (AITRI). Let’s keep pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve together! 🚀 #RegulatoryRoundtable #Actuaries #UNDPGAIN #Milliman #socialimpact

🧬To forecast potential cell and gene therapy cases, payers need to make a considerable effort to maintain an up-to-date repository of current and future treatments. This report by Brenda (Runyan) Cordell shares our experience in gathering evidence to help inform key components necessary for any financial forecast, and is arranged in five sections: 1️⃣ Introduction to CGT 2️⃣ Pipeline identification 3️⃣ Approval timing and cost 4️⃣ Treatment-eligible population 5️⃣ Rate of treatment #Milliman #healthcare

When you work with Milliman, you're working with a group of people who are committed to paying it forward. One way we do that is through the Milliman Giving Fund. The Milliman Giving Fund is a philanthropic initiative funded by employees and retirees who offer donations to support charitable causes around the world. Today, we're happy to share a couple of updates to our ongoing commitment to two causes: 🥕🍅 A $750,000 grant to Partners In Health and its nonprofit partner Community Outreach and Patient Empowerment. This grant will increase access to the Navajo Fruit and Vegetable Prescription Program, which expands access to healthy food for the greater Navajo community. It'll also strengthen local data monitoring capacities to better evaluate the impact of the program within Indigenous communities. 💧🚰 A $750,000 grant to Splash International's Project WISE program. This grant will fund a multi-country expansion for the program to improve water, sanitation, and hygiene conditions at schools in East Africa. We're grateful to be part of a workplace community that pools its resources to make a better place. #Milliman #SocialImpact #MillimanGivingFund #LifeatMilliman
