It also helps to promote and discuss safety when you have tasty Coffee from Everbean Café! ☕ We also had Safety in the Digital Age 💻 workshops using the Dulann EHS portal to facilitate greater usage and recording of information to capture good and not-so-good practices, to assist with future improvements. Our Port of Waterford ORE project team recently attended Hartlepool UK to view Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) projects. Port of Waterford has applied to expand its facilities and a key aspect is to extend berth capacity to support ORE of the South Coast of Ireland.   This type of project cargo is unique compared to previous cargoes handled and the Port wants to ensure that all aspects are considered in the new development. The visit was timely given the Oireachtas’ recent approval of the South Coast Designated Maritime Area Plan (DMAP). The Port team also visited the JDR Cable Systems site, to see first hand the scale of cabling required for such projects. Many thanks to David Brennan and his team at Eastgate Engineering for facilitating the informative visit. Eastgate Engineering is a specialist Electrical & Instrumentation services contractor, providing Engineering, Construction, Commissioning and Maintenance services covering a broad range of services such as Oil & Gas / Chemicals, Pharmaceutical & Healthcare, Mining, Power & Renewables, Industrial & Manufacturing, Commercial & Retail. The company is currently working on the “Dogger Bank Offshore Wind Farm” with approximately 90 people employed on this project working 24/7 365 days per year.
