Durability shouldn’t be a luxury and today, we’re proud to launch the Primark Durability Framework - a new set of guidelines that sets the bar for how we extend the life of clothing. Inspired by research from WRAP, Hubbub and the School of Design - University of Leeds, we’re proving that affordability and durability can go hand-in-hand. Our hope is that this initiative leads the way across the fashion industry, ensuring that people everywhere can love and wear their clothes for longer. About us
Primark is an international fashion retailer employing more than 80,000 colleagues across 17 countries in Europe and the US. Founded in Ireland in 1969 under the Penneys brand, Primark aims to provide affordable choices for everyone, from great quality everyday essentials to stand-out style across women’s, men’s and kids, as well as beauty, homeware and accessories. With a focus on creating great retail experiences, Primark has over 440 stores globally and continues to expand with the aim of reaching 530 stores by the end of 2026. Primark is working to make more sustainable fashion affordable for everyone through its Primark Cares strategy, a multi-year programme that focuses on giving clothing a longer life, protecting life on the planet and supporting the livelihoods of the people who make Primark clothes. As part of this, Primark unveiled nine commitments it is working to achieve by 2030. These commitments include making all of its clothes from recycled or more sustainably sourced materials by 2030, halving carbon emissions across its value chain and pursuing a living wage for workers in its supply chain.

This year’s ‘We’re with you’ Breast Cancer Awareness campaign spotlights the journeys of five women across five countries who have been affected by breast cancer. Through self-directed videos and photographs which are featured in the Primark windows of over 450 stores globally and across its digital channels, real women share their stories and experiences, highlighting the importance of the support they received. We’re so proud to donate over £1 million to cancer charities across Europe and the US with funds going towards raising awareness, research and support for cancer services. The campaign also includes a 37-piece collection of post-surgery bras, underwear, leisurewear, nightwear and beauty products across our post-surgery and solidarity ranges. #Primark #Werewithyou #Breastcancerawareness

We’re committed to supporting and improving the livelihoods of the people who make our products. As a part of our goal to create financial resilience for workers in our supply chain, we’re proud to have worked with IDEO.org in developing Bright Futures, a financial literacy pilot program for garment workers in our supplier factories in Vietnam. This initiative, in collaboration with Standard Chartered, focuses on empowering workers through open conversations about finance and building essential financial skills. It’s fantastic to see the Bright Futures team recognised for their hard work at the The Money Awareness and Inclusion Awards recently, winning runner-up for Best Adult Financial Education Project. You can find out more about Bright Futures work here: https://lnkd.in/eFcnhwpe
How might breaking the silence around money transform lives? When developing Bright Futures, our financial literacy program for garment workers in Vietnam, in collaboration with Doodle Design, we learned that money was the silent specter that influenced life decisions and familial relationships, despite rarely being discussed. Designing to erase this taboo became one of our central challenges. Supported by Primark and Standard Chartered, Bright Futures takes a peer- approach to encourage open discussions about money management while building foundational financial knowledge, with the goal of long-term well-being. We’re thrilled that Bright Futures won runner-up for the Best Adult Financial Education (Non-Profit) Award at The Money Awareness and Inclusion Awards this year! Dive into the details in our case study and white paper with Doodle Design!

50 and fabulous! 🎉 We’re ready to celebrate as we mark 50 years to the day since we first opened our doors in Great Britain. Five years after opening our first store in Dublin, our founder Arthur Ryan set his sights across the pond and opened the first Primark in Derby, England, on this day in 1974 🎉 While fashions have changed and our stores have evolved, over the past five decades we’ve stayed true to who we are – helping people to look good and feel good every day for less. A big thank you to all our colleagues – past and present - for the important role they’ve played in our journey.💙 Here’s to the next 50.

We couldn’t be prouder to win Best Retailer of Kids Licensed Products at last night’s Licensing Awards in London 🎉. Our teams continue to drive forward our product ranges, bringing more iconic brands and characters to our customers, so it’s great to see them recognised for their creativity and hard work. We also picked up a second award on the night for our Barbie The Movie collection, taking us back to last year’s pink summer! A massive thank you to all of our partners for their continued support, this success would not be possible without them.
