One quarter of drivers involved in fatal collisions were driving for work: Research presented today by the RSA at the annual Driving for Work seminar. The seminar was co-hosted by the RSA, Health and Safety Authority and An Garda Síochána. This year’s theme was “Back to Basics” and its aim was to inform and educate employers about how to implement safe driving for work practices. Coca-Cola HBC’s Designated Driver Campaign is back for its 20th anniversary to reward drivers who play their part in getting their friends and family home safely this Christmas. To help get the message out this Christmas, TV Presenter and former Olympian Greg O’Shea has teamed up with Coca-Cola HBC and its brand partner, The Coca-Cola Company, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Designated Driver campaign. Over 350 venues across the island of Ireland will participate in this year’s campaign. Drivers can grab two soft drinks from the Coca-Cola range for free, by simply making themselves known to bar staff. #VisionZero #RoadSafety #DesignatedDriver

Keep It #SignSafe: RSA Urges Politicians to Prioritise Public Safety Over Promotion As canvassing for the General Election kicks off, the RSA is calling on all political parties and their campaign workers to exercise caution when positioning campaign posters, especially near roadways. The RSA emphasises the importance of ensuring that campaign activities do not compromise road safety. It is illegal to place posters in locations that obscure traffic signs, including speed limits, junctions, warnings, roadworks, and directional signs.
