Here are some highlights from today’s sessions: 🔹 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐛𝐲 Paul Holmes, Founder of PRovoke Media: He set a powerful context for the day, addressing the evolving challenges in public relations and the shift from shareholder to stakeholder priorities. Holmes underscored the need for PR professionals to lead with transparency and prioritise societal benefit in corporate governance, preparing to offer informed guidance amid global instability. 🔹 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐞: In the session, Chris Foster (Omnicom) and Michael Steele (MSNBC), discussed the complexities shaping the upcoming U.S. election, with a focus on economic and immigration issues. They emphasised the critical role of civic engagement, voter participation, and effective communication strategies, particularly in a polarised political environment. 🔹 𝐍𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: The session, featuring Aaron Guiterman (Edelman Global Advisory and Nikki Haley, Former U.N. Trust in the US government remains at its lowest, with only 45% viewing it as a reliable truth source.     🔥We had the privilege of witnessing a fiery fireside chat between Kara Swisher, renowned journalist, podcast host and bestselling author, and Gail Heimann, CEO of Weber Shandwick. Their discussion, "Power and Prejudice", delved deep into the state of women in business, technology, and society. Key points included: ▶️ The ongoing challenges women face in achieving equal opportunities, financial resources, and power are rooted in deep social issues that are not going away anytime soon. ▶️ Women hold only 6% of CEO positions in the S&P 500, 10% in the Fortune 100 and only 26 countries worldwide are led by women, highlighting a significant leadership gap. 💡 This session sparked critical conversations about equity and empowerment, reminding us of the work that still needs to be done to ensure that half the world's population receives half the opportunity. ✅ As Kara frankly explained: "even if you don't care about the role of women in society, the simple truth is representation creates a better product... Key takeaways from the discussions 👇 1️⃣ 𝐏𝐑 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐈 In this compelling session, industry leaders Anne Green (G&S Integrated Marketing Communications Group), Neby Ejigu (FINN Partners), Samantha Rothaus (Davis+Gilbert LLP), Rebecca Honeyman (SourceCode Communications), and Aaron Kwittken (PRophet) highlighted the importance of balancing AI’s capabilities with human insight.     Our team had an inspiring few days at #WMIC24! ✨ This congress is a yearly highlight for Ruepoint, offering thought-provoking sessions and rich networking opportunities that help strengthen our industry partnerships.   Here are some highlights from our experience 👇 🔹Reinventing with Generative AI 🤖: Eduardo Ordax from Amazon explored how generative AI is transforming industries by making technology more accessible and versatile, supported by AWS's vast cloud resources.   🔹Navigating the Rapid Evolution of AI 🌐: Constantinos Kattirdjis from Microsoft emphasised the transformative potential of generative AI for productivity and personalised customer engagement, highlighting Microsoft’s commitment to privacy, fairness, and transparency.   🔹State of the PR-Media Relationship: Global Survey 📊: Our Head of Marketing and Communications, Iskren Lilov, led a discussion alongside Amrita Sidhu (Medianet - Media Intelligence Made Smarter), Carlos Alfredo Diaz (Global News Group), and Oresti Patricios (Ornico).     We wrap up #WMIC24 with a panel discussion featuring our Head of Marketing and Communications, Iskren Lilov. 🎤 In the State of the PR-Media Relationship: Global Survey panel, he joined Amrita Sidhu (Medianet - Media Intelligence Made Smarter), Carlos Alfredo Diaz (Global News Group, Inc), and Oresti Patricios (Ornico) to share key insights.   Here are the main takeaways from the survey 👇 🔹 98% of PR professionals and journalists report a significant decline in trust in media organisations. 🔹 60% of PR professionals and journalists believe that AI could replace certain aspects of their job.   Highlights from across the regions 👇 🔹APAC findings: Journalists believe the best way to build relationships with them is by providing story or interview exclusives (62% of respondents). 🔹 Africa findings: Journalists increasingly use social media, with Facebook, X, Instagram, and WhatsApp as key platforms, while TikTok is gaining traction.  🔹 South America: 55% of journalists are somewhat or significantly more likely to cover a story if it’s already been covered. 🔹 North America: 90% of North American journalists surveyed express at least a moderate concern about the impacts of generative Al/L.LMs could have on the integrity or quality of journalism overall.     Our team had an inspiring day at the 𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐈 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒, where we joined over 250 comms professionals to explore the future of PR. Here are some highlights from this memorable event 👇 💡 This year’s conference was a powerful reminder of PR's role in fostering positive change, strengthening communities, and sharing stories that matter. 🎤 Former President of Ireland Mary Robinson reminded us of the transformative power of words. In her keynote, she shared a hopeful vision for addressing the climate crisis, urging us to be “prisoners of hope” and use our words to inspire a better world. ☕ Paul Clifford and Deirdre Sheahan from Drury PR shared their work on the Killarney Coffee Cup Initiative, which saved 1.5 million coffee cups annually. By amplifying this local project, they brought national attention to an important sustainability effort, showing how PR can elevate community-driven initiatives and inspire similar actions across the country. Thank you to everyone who shared their experiences and to the Public Relations Institute of Ireland for organising yet another amazing event.
