Today Sullivan’s is pleased to introduce you to our latest embodiment of Master Brewer Ian Hamilton’s craftsmanship, Na Boii, our lovely Pilsner.
In the 1840’s, the Bohemian city of Plzň in the present-day Czech Republic gave birth to the Pilsner beer style, and the city’s unique water and local noble hops famously lent a gorgeous brightness and crispness to the style now known the world over.
And wouldn’t ya know it, there are ties to the ancient Celts. The name Bohemia traces its etymology to that of the Boii, a Celtic Tribe that flourished in the region ages ago.
Alas, Na Boii is our first lager in the modern era, yet over 150 years ago Sullivan’s also had lager on offer as a complement to our range of ales at the time. Thank you to our partners in the hospitality industry and the many, many patrons at various festivals who all encouraged us to bring a lager to market.
We hope you enjoy our homage to Bohemia and the refreshing lager beer style that is Pilsner. A traditional lager beer, brewed in Ireland.
