"OpenAI’s Education Forum was eye-opening for a number of reasons, but the one that stood out the most was Leah Belsky acknowledging what many of us in education had known for nearly two years—the majority of the active weekly users of ChatGPT are students." https://lnkd.in/e5sVsHBq

Associate Professor of Digital Learning at Dublin City University. Interested in how and why we learn, online, offline and everywhere in between. How do we make those spaces better ones in which to teach, learn and live?
Good to hear student voices in this very interesting piece on GenAI use, non use and impacts and costs. There are disonant discourses at play it would seem: “It’s a challenge between, as students, finding the easiest way through your workload, which just gets heavier and heavier, and also grappling with the fact that you’re kind of destroying the planet every time you [use AI],” said Rowe, who occasionally uses AI for outlines or research. “There’s no warnings that come with it. Most of what we get about AI is the cheating element and not the environmental impact of it.” https://lnkd.in/efgTHVFG
