Just a reminder that June is ‘snapshot’ month for any Company producing a Gender Pay Gap Report in 2024. For any company with 150+ Employees, you must produce this report no later than December. Any Company with 50+ employees should also take note and understand this process as you will come within scope for this report in 2025. The Government are seeking Cabinet approval today for draft legislation to enact the Automatic Enrolment Retirement Savings System Bill by January 2025. The main aim of this legislation is to prevent workers' standard of living from declining by ensuring that they receive extra pension funds for retirement in addition to their State Pension (which will remain). Employers will need to be aware of the financial implications and plan appropriately for the administration of this within their business. 

The issue of retirement age has been a hot topic for years now. Conversations on this issue go hand in hand with pension accessibility and the generally improved health of older workers. Interesting to see this new legislation, which will outlaw contractual retirement ages under the state pension age, being put forward to the Oireachtas. Employers should also consult the WRC Code of Practice on Longer Working and have a clear plan and communication strategy for any colleagues approaching this age. https://lnkd.in/dSwMMnG6
