UPMC has enjoyed some fantastic community outreach initiatives in Waterford recently! Our outreach team was delighted to attend the Connecting Communities Roadshow event in partnership with Healthy Waterford and Waterford PPN at Lisduggan Shopping Centre, Co. Waterford. Joanne and Clodagh provided attendees with information about the exceptional services available both across the UPMC network and locally in UPMC Whitfield Hospital and UPMC Sports Medicine Clinic in SETU Arena. As part of Jabil’s Health & Wellbeing week, UPMC visited the team at Jabil. Jo Breheny, from UPMC Whitfield Hospital's 'Joint School', gave an educational talk on orthopaedic health and strength. We also met with the Tramore Active Retirement group, providing information on the health care services available throughout the UPMC network and close to home.

As Kilkenny Swimming Club's Healthcare Partner, UPMC Aut Even Hospital was delighted to host a delegation of A squad and B squad swimmers in the hospital recently. The hospital's Physiotherapy team delivered an education session on 'Injury Prevention and Strength & Conditioning for Swimmers'. A special word of thanks to William Cuddihy and Elaine Kennington for their engaging presentations, demonstrations, and advice, and to Kilkenny Swim Club delegates for their attendance. Best wishes to the club and its swimmers in their remaining galas and competitions this season.

This week, we had the honour of celebrating the incredible career of Dr. Dayle Hacking, a dedicated radiation oncologist whose work has positively impacted the lives of countless patients and colleagues. Dr. Hacking joined UPMC in 2006, when UPMC Hillman Cancer Centre first opened its doors to patients in the South East. Throughout his career, Dr. Hacking has been unwavering in his commitment to providing exceptional care, advancing medical excellence, and supporting those around him. His dedication to his patients, colleagues, and the field of medicine has left a lasting legacy. As he embarks on this new chapter, we wish Dr. Hacking a long and fulfilled retirement. Thank you for everything, Dr. Hacking, from everyone in UPMC!
