Today, on the International Day of Rural Women, we celebrate the incredible contributions of rural women, who make up around 22% of the global population. These women are the backbone of their communities, playing a crucial role in health, food security, and economic development. Yet, rural women often face significant challenges—higher rates of poverty, limited access to social services, and fewer employment opportunities. Despite these obstacles, their resilience and determination are nothing short of inspiring. As Minister Sean Fleming highlights, investing in women is not just a moral imperative but a catalyst for sustainable development. At Vita, we stand by this belief and are committed to empowering women because we know that when women thrive, their entire communities benefit. 💪🏾
