The Switzerland Branch of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) visited the new Gotthard Road Tunnel on Wednesday 23rd October 2024. 10 ICE members saw the 12.3m diameter TBM currently being assembled ready for launching in early 2025. The 16.9km long tunnel under is due for completion in 2030. It was a very interesting visit, in particular, to better understand the efforts being made to recycle as much of the excavated material as possible. Thanks to Werner Dallapiazza and ILF Consulting Engineers for arranging the visit !

ikagai event mentioned yesterday at our AGM
Fantastic evening at the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) in London with my daughter attending the inaugural Ikagai Festival of Creative Arts. It was a brilliant way to showcase the creative arts and show connections between infrastructure, art and creativity. Well done all involved and to Prof. (Dr) Anusha Shah for starting this event. Looking forward to seeing it go from strength to strength! Thank you Deborah Meaden for supporting such events. My daughter was very happy to be able to attend but delighted when she found out she won the art category! #ikiagi2024 #naturepositive #civilengineering #stantecproud
