This episode of Invested might make you mad. Joe Lonsdale gives a masterclass on how to make things move–from defense tech to American healthcare to government procurement–without mincing words. He tells Michael Eisenberg the little-known story of how America was days away from having no SpaceX, Tesla or PayPal, along with some hot takes on what constitutes toxic (and healthy) masculinity. He also shares the ethos behind Palantir Technologies, University of Austin (UATX), and so many other ventures that are challenging incumbents with a big fat, “No thank you.” This is a wild one. Listen below.

Eden Shochat lets everyone at Aleph read his email. In fact, he encourages it. We have a culture of full transparency (and we mean that, as you'll see from the video), and that, combined with LLMs, helps us get rid of organizational bottlenecks and speed up decision-making. Watch Eden's Partner Perspective to learn what's crippling your company's momentum, what you can do to overcome it, and how to increase your competitive edge. And for a more in-depth guide on how to get rid of "wait states" in your organization, read his blog post linked below 👇

What's going to help Brooklyn shoppers save 30% on their grocery bills? It's 2024, so the answer is obviously 'robots' - courtesy of Fabric. "Robotic arms pluck plastic bins filled with groceries and deliver them to dozens of robots on the ground," explains Kate King in The Wall Street Journal. "The robots send the items to workers, who pack them into grocery bags before handing them off to Uber drivers for delivery. The machine can assemble 50-item orders in six to eight minutes." Hear more about the future of your grocery shopping from Fabric Co-CEO Curt Avallone in the full article 👇 Ori Avraham | Shay Cohen | Avi Jacoby (Jack)

Today was a hard day. A very hard day. The air was heavy. The streets were empty. The tears just flowed. It was personal for everyone. As the end of October 7th approaches here in Israel, I want to talk about tomorrow. One year ago we were knocked on our backsides. Over the last year, Israelis, led by reservists, the younger generation, spouses and families picked themselves up and showed the world the way forward. On the morning of October 7th, "The System" failed. Hours later, Israel's civilian resilience kicked in. This is what I called in my recent book "We the Heroic Israelis". It is what my friend Shervin Pishevar today coined "Civilience" in response to my podcast. Let me tell you what "Civilience" looks like: 1. Thousands of Israeli reservists clamoring to get on planes to come home and fight the Hamas and Hezbollah terrorists. 2. Civilians cooking meals and getting supplies for soldiers. 3. Israeli high tech entrepreneurs taking investor and customer calls in bomb shelters or while on a mountain top in reserve duty. Including today (great job Nimrod Kramer)! 4. Hundreds of thousands of wives (and the MVP grandmas) holding down the home front and houses full of kids while their husbands were on the front lines. 5. Technologists turning up on the front lines to mount dash cams on tanks and just coming to fix old tanks. 6. Numerous Venture funds turning up and opening offices in Israel, making Q2 a significant growth quarter for investment in Israeli tech. 7. Self-organized whatsapp groups that took on campus protestors and gathered Israelis/Jews and friends of freedom and the west. We are a strong community. 8. We are now building. Building a civilian-led society that defends freedom. Building a society that supports families. Building an innovative society. Building a society that supports Western values. Building a society that loves life and beats back the Nihilists. Building a society and generation that understands sacrifice and service is neccessary to preserve and enhance what we have built and can be a beacon for the free world with this attitude! CIVILIENCE! Am Yisrael Chai!

What do you even say on a day like today? We're turning to the voices who have both inspired and broken us, with their stories of heroism and loss from October 7th, 2023. You'll hear how Ami Daniel saved hundreds of lives using his phone. How Izhar Shay, whose son Yaron Oree was killed in battle on the 7th, created the Next October initiative to build startups in memory of those killed. How Eyal Waldman, who lost his daughter Danielle and her boyfriend Noam, envisions peace going forward. How Stefan Tompson, Marc Rowan, Barak Herscowitz and Sam Lessin stood up to fight for Western values and against antisemitism. We're grieving, and we're hopeful. Listen with us 👇

"We're just the stagehands. Investors are stagehands. We're behind the scenes. The heroes of the journey are entrepreneurs," Michael Eisenberg tells Gali Bloch Liran on The Human Founder. The interview is out! For investing in long-term relationships with entrepreneurs, what the bible (Torah) can teach us about business, how to balance between personal and professional commitments, and how optimism and resilience are the most important traits for entrepreneurs - listen with the link below.

“We discovered what I have called the “Defining Generation” - Israeli kids that people misjudged. They turned out to be the insta-hero generation and not the Instagram generation. They stood up where leaders failed," says Aleph partner Michael Eisenberg. "Israeli society is resilient. Israeli tech is resilient. Investment in Israel is more than resilient. It turns out that the Abraham Accords are resilient as well. This was a cursed year. But it had hidden blessings." The painful one-year mark since October 7th is almost here. We are more bullish on Israel than ever before. Read Michael's blog post on why, linked below.
