Back today from a terrific trip seeing bondIT clients in Zurich and Luzern...I was reminded of my first trip here 30 years ago as a junior marketeer at Kleinwort Benson. I had no clients or contacts in Switzerland back then, so I called the Julius Baer switchboard and asked to speak to Mr Baer & they put me through. It was one of the Baer family (I won't share exactly who but think Scion) and he took my meeting. I remember asking so many questions in that first meeting, it was so interesting and I listened intently. Then I shared my narrative with enthusiasm, belief and energy...and he invested! Three decades later I continue to love meeting people, hearing about their focus areas and challenges, and working out where I can help them. Sure, much has changed since that first trip to the Bahnhofstrasse but I realise in this reminiscence that much hasn't >>> Be brave & get noticed to break though barriers Create to make new things happen every day Listen then position Energy, passion and interest are infectious Decisions are made at the very top Only genuine engagement creates relationships from contacts Thanks to everyone who made time to meet this week.
