#Removal and #avoidance are key strategies not only in #greenhousegas emissions reductions, they're also valuable as a company's mind set. When we first set out with our Reactor 1.0 our vision was to remove the problems most commonly found in #pyrolysis bases systems. And we did. Since 2019 our Reactor 1.0 has proven to perform to the highest standards, especially with: 🎛 Sophisticated control system that allows heterogenous feedstock to come in and the thermo-chemical process to remain stable, thus creating a consistent output; 💡 The system works in a continuous in-line bases, not in batches; 💲 The CAPEX is minimal and payback period is normally under three years; 🗜 Scalability ranging from 0.5 T/H and onwards, in accordance with the available feedstock. Removing problems is good, but avoiding them altogether is even better. That's why we dedicated the last couple of months to build and test our brand new Reactor 2.0, and boy did it deliver! Reactor 2.0 features include all the advantages of Reactor 1.0, as well as: 🔧 Brand new, first of a kind, design that avoids the mechanical problems occurring in pyrolysis reactors; 🔌 It requires less energy to operate so we're left with more energy for the output energetic yield; ⌛ Faster supply time, which means our clients get their value much quicker, which in turn makes us very happy. Reactor 2.0 will come in to all our commercial contracts, and we're extremely excited about it. It's so simple and genius and it's going to revolutionize the pyrolysis world ✨ Stay tuned for some exciting updates on seeing Reactor 2.0 in action!

Looking at two of the world’s most burning challenges – extreme rise in human made waste and the constant growth in demand for clean energy – we at Co-Energy make one a solution for the other. The startling figure of 2.3 Billion tons of waste annually needs to be addressed. Complementing partial solutions like recycling and education for wise consumption habits, it's time take on a cost-effective approach and find an economically viable way to treat waste. The only sector with the ability to absorb such quantities without the blink of an eye is the energy sector, where the 2.3 billion tons of waste can be converted to 200,000MW of power. And that's what we at Co-Energy do - we convert waste to energy, mainly electricity, and also fuel. Keeping in line with the advancements in the electricity sector, we recognize the growing reliance on hydrogen as a source for electricity, and so we developed the ability to convert waste to hydrogen. Co-Energy brings forward a profitable technological solution, taking the concept of circular economy to the next level, where the end product is of greater quality than the input material. Additionally, we are converting organic waste to biochar. Biochar is a carbon-rich material, made out of organic material like wood, sewage sludge, cattle manure, dry produce etc. or a combination of those. It is the perfect solution for cattle and dairy farm owners, who wish to treat animal manure in a profitable and environmental friendly way. Mastering process control & management technologies enabled Co-Energy to utilize a proven pyrolysis process to create a cutting-edge system that converts waste into ready-to-use energy products. The continuous and automatic process turns non-homogeneous waste into efficient, green energy whether it is electricity or liquid fuels. The system takes all types of raw waste, making the expensive and complicated waste sorting systems irrelevant. Co-Energy was founded by Amir Cohen in 2014.

Earlier this week the The Wall Street Journal posted an article about the growing business opportunities involved with decarbonizing the construction industry, with an important focus on cement and concrete. Accounting for 7% of global emissions, decarbonizing construction materials can have dramatic influences on meeting mitigation targets both on national and global levels. #biochar is becoming more and more valuable in these #decarbonization efforts, and producing biochar from various types of green waste is striking two birds with one shot, as it avoidance the methane emissions that this waste would have generated rotting away at some landfill, or just dumped. Co-Energy will continue to deploy its #wastetoenergy plants worldwide to enhance biochar production and support spreading its various applications.

🌱 Exploring New Horizons in Sustainable Construction! 🏗️ Did you know that there is a growing interest in the application of #biochar in cement? 🌍 Cement might just be the next big frontier for biochar enthusiasts, and here's why! 🌿 **Carbon Storage**: By incorporating biochar into cement, we create a powerful ally in the fight against climate change. Biochar stores carbon, preventing its release into the atmosphere and transforming buildings into carbon sinks. 🌳 🏢 **Tailored Applications**: The beauty of biochar lies in its versatility. The percentage of biochar added to cement can be customized based on the type of cement desired. Structural cement maintains its mechanical properties with a touch of biochar, while non-structural cement can embrace higher biochar percentages. 🏗️ 🔄 **Carbon-Negative Magic**: Biochar, as a carbon-negative material, works wonders in reducing emissions throughout the entire construction process. It's not just about building structures; it's about building a sustainable future. ♻️ 🚀 **Join Us on this Green Journey!** We are actively working on incorporating biochar into cement to contribute to a more sustainable and eco-friendly construction industry. How about you? Are you part of the movement towards greener and cleaner building solutions? 🌱💪 Let's make a positive impact together! 🌐 #SustainableConstruction #BiocharInnovation #GreenBuilding #ClimateAction #EcoFriendlyFuture

Our second #plasticwaste to #fuel plant is leaving the manufacturing yard and off to the client's premises, to be installed and begin doing what it was built to do - convert #waste to #energy. Waste that otherwise would have been landfilled will be put to much better use, and fuel users will have a clean source at hand instead of exhausting Earth's natural resources. The pyrolytic reactor is designed and constructed inside a container, which makes transporting it so much easier, and safer! Setting up #wastetoenergy plants doesn't have to be big white elephants that cost nine digits in CAPEX and can't justify the investment. It CAN, and with Co-Energy it DOES come in compact modular plants that are easily incorporated into existing facilities, with minimal footprint and maximum energetic efficiency. We can't wait to share pictures and videos of this beauty operating, and kick off the new year with a less plastic waste and more clean-green-and profitable energy! Happy Holidays everyone! see you in 2024!

Last week the International Biochar Initiative held a three-days online symposium that included an impressive list of speakers and informative presentations ranging from biochar's role in carbon markets, its role in agriculture and other industries, and much more. At the industry perspective, one theme that kept recurring was the high CAPEX that stands in the way of many biochar projects. Some players, especially those coming from the #voluntarycarbonmarkets are trying to offer interim solutions and different funding opportunities to circumvent this hurdle, but does not nor should it be the answer. As the biomass to biochar playing field gets crowded, it's not enough to present pyrolysis plant that works (though that is not to be underestimated), you also need to make the economics work. The answer should come from adopting technologies that in and of themselves are affordable, and exhibit a financial feasibility without relying on external funding. It's very hard to get clients on board a project that is not self sufficient and has a long payback period. It's much easier to get clients to sign up for a project that has a payback period of less than two years. And this is exactly what we at Co-Energy do. Winning technology is the key, and we've got it. We have some great biochar projects in the pipeline for 2024, and the ROI calculation was instrumental to getting each and everyone of them. #wastetoenergy #biochar #climatefinance #organicwaste
