🌍 On September 29, 2024, the world will mark the 5th International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste, a day dedicated to raising awareness about the urgent need to combat food waste. 🚨 In 2022 alone, an estimated 1.05 billion tonnes of food were wasted globally, equating to 132 kg per person. 🌱 The CrackSense project is making strides toward reducing food loss by providing real-time monitoring of fruit cracking risks at multiple levels. 🛰️ Drones (UAVs) have significantly advanced, reshaping farming with cost savings, efficiency, and profitability. 🍎 In the CrackSense project, proximal and remote sensing technologies are combined to evaluate environmental and management factors influencing fruit cracking.
