Many in the CA Assembly think the bill's problems have been "fixed," but this is far from reality: This is not just a minor state bill; it's a significant overreach that would determine the future of AI for the country, while ignoring repeated feedback and concerns from Little Tech about the bill's unintended consequences https://lnkd.in/gtUSQ-vt The amendments made before this week's committee hearing do not address the most fundamental problem with the bill - restricting AI research instead of regulating misuses of models. I’m thrilled to announce the release of QuantumBlack, AI by McKinsey’s latest report ‘The state of AI in early 2024: Gen AI adoption spikes and starts to generate value’! This year’s report, which I co-authored with Michael Chui, Alexander Sukharevsky, Lareina Yee, and Bryce Hall, found that: ▪ Three-quarters of respondents predict that gen AI will cause significant or disruptive change to their industries in the years ahead. ▪ 65% of respondents say their organizations are using gen AI in at least one business function, nearly double what our previous survey showed 10 months ago. ▪ 67% of surveyed leaders expect to increase their investment in AI, signaling a strong commitment to this technology as a driver of future growth.
