October 7th changed many lives. But for me, it was October 8th that altered everything. That morning, we reached out to our clients. CEOs and CMOs were being drafted to reserve duty. For most of the companies we worked with, PR was understandably not a priority. Our in-person meeting in Tel Aviv was canceled, but we still gathered virtually to decide how we could help in such a difficult time. Our conclusion was that we needed to do what we do best—tell stories. We started by sending a form to our network of journalists, asking what kinds of stories they were interested in. From there, we worked tirelessly to find sources—hostage families, Nova survivors, politicians, bereaved families, charities, soldiers, displaced individuals, and more. We teamed up with other professionals in the field and organized press conferences for families of hostages from France, the U.S., Germany, and even child hostages. We still help some of those families to this day. Later, we collaborated with leading Jewish voices and organizations to amplify Israel’s story, call out antisemitism, and defend Israel’s right to protect itself. Since October 8th, we’ve facilitated thousands of stories across the most prominent news outlets worldwide. We’ve helped lobby, raised awareness, managed hostage campaigns, fund raise and provided materials to Congress, among many other efforts. While the work is far from over. I wanted to reflect on the year past and to express my gratitude to Matthew Krieger for his leadership, the incredible Gova10 team for all the hard work, and everyone we worked with along the way. We’re not done yet.
