🌟 Celebrating Academic Collaboration and Innovation in Healthcare 🌟 We are excited to highlight a recent project developed through the ongoing academic partnership between Hillel Yaffe Medical Center (HYMC) and the Ruppin Academic Center. HYMC values the contributions of students, and this year, three Computer Science students—Oshrat Cohen, Rahav Shema, and Tamar Ben Nahum—under the academic guidance of Dr. Ditsa Beimal, developed a practical system for managing surgeries for surgical department residents. The project was based on a real challenge identified by our medical staff. Dr. Sheffer Daniel , a senior physician in the Surgical department & head of the Residency program, shared his experience: "From our first meeting, I encountered three motivated students with a strong background in information systems. Over the course of an intense year, we worked closely to define our needs, streamline work processes, and develop a system that meets our requirements. The result is a user-friendly tool that will assist us in efficiently managing resident surgeries. A big thank you to the students for their dedication and hard work." Dr. Sharon Rashi-Elkeles , Director of IRA-HYMC, added: "We are proud and appreciative of the academic ties we have forged with institutions like Ruppin Academic Center. Each collaboration contributes to improving patient care and advancing the field of medicine. This project is a testament to the value of collaboration between academic institutions and healthcare providers, bringing practical solutions to real-world challenges. We look forward to continuing these meaningful partnerships in the future". #HealthcareInnovation #AcademicCollaboration #SurgeryManagement Sharon Rashi-Elkeles Dikla Dahan Shriki Dizza Beimel Sheffer Daniel Ruppin Academic Center

The 'Hila' program team, —a program for leadership and medical excellence, supported by the Edmond de Rothschild Foundation and initiated by the Friends of the Hillel Yaffe Medical Center association, swapped their doctors' gowns for flight overalls at the "Squadron" flight simulator complex. They operated an F16 simulator and explored debriefing strategies and insights from the Air Force.✈️ Dr. Dikla Dahan Shriki: "In our program, interns are introduced to diverse work processes across different fields. By incorporating debriefing and control tools similar to those used in aviation, we aim to inspire them to continuously evaluate and enhance their methods, even when successful. This approach encourages refining processes, updating protocols, and improving operational methods, with the ultimate goal of striving for continuous improvement." The Gastroenterology Institute of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center is proud to be at the forefront of technology alongside the Surgical division, in order to continue providing the best care for our patients. Nisan Gil Tradis Gat #innovativetech #endoscopy #gastroentrology
Really happy to share this case! A month ago, we conducted a training day on the X-TACK system by Apollo Endosurgery, part of Boston Scientific, at HYMC ISRAEL - Hillel Yaffe Medical Center. Just two weeks later, Dr. Oren Gal and his medical team, with my support, used this Advanced Endoscopic suture-based technology successfully for closure of a gastric defect after PEG dislodgement. The success of this endoscopic procedure allowed us to avoid abdominal surgery. The procedure was performed in collaboration with the Surgery Devision and the Head of the Advanced Laparoscopy Unit - Dr. Veacheslav (Slava) Zilbermints. It's satisfying to see how clinical education and great teamwork pay off! #gastroentrology #advanced #endoscopy Tradis Gat #tradis #great #we #are #GI

A Question Troubling Cardiologists Worldwide: Should a Defibrillator Be Implanted as a Preventive Measure for Cardiac Arrest or Not? The Cardiology Department at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center is launching an integrated project with the University of Haifa, additional medical centers, and the 'Kineret' initiative to develop a predictive model for life-threatening arrhythmias following an acute heart attack. This project aims to create a statistical tool combined with AI that will provide a numerical score indicating the likelihood of cardiac arrest and recommendation for the individual patient.
