CityPro leadership Program, 2024. At the conclusion of a two-session program in Israel, where participants received information and engaged in discussions on climate change issues in the country, we embarked on an professional tour abroad, this time to Taipei, Taiwan. We were exposed to and learned about topics such as green building, public housing, urban planning, and earthquake preparedness. We also met professionals and key figures involved in Israel-Taiwan relations. The program included 30 municipal's general directors and municipal engineers who, despite their ongoing responsibilities back home, expanded their perspectives to learn from a country both similar and different to our own. Equally important, they engaged in peer learning and reinforced one another in matters relevant to the tour, with a focus on how to integrate these insights within their respective municipalities. On the first day of the tour, Maya Yaron, head of the Israeli delegation in Taiwan, joined us. She shared more about the country, its people, and Taiwanese culture. We are deeply grateful to her, as it is not taken for granted that during these challenging times, she took the time to be with us, despite her significant efforts to raise awareness and promote Israel’s public diplomacy. Special thanks also to Meital Margulis Lin 林雨夢, who, after months of collaboration, meticulously organized the tour for us. Her professionalism and the essential information she provided about life in Taiwan helped us weave together all the meetings and professionals we encountered into a cohesive learning experience. And of course, thank you my partners at the association of CEOs and Secretaries of Local Authorities and the Israel association of municipal engineers Tal Miles
