A New Perspective for Stroke Treatment

Inretio is a medical device start-up focused on improving the treatment of ischemic strokes caused by a clot blocking blood flow to the brain. Over 175,000 ischemic stroke patients inn the US undergo mechanical thrombectomy procedures every year. Unfortunately, currently used devices have limited success rates and high rates of mortality and disability. Inretio is developing a new concept for clot-retrieving devices that aims to prevent complications more effectively during thrombectomy procedures, with the goal of improving outcomes for stroke patients. The PREVA clot retriever is The 1st and only protective clot retriever using a distal basket. PREVA is the only clot retrieval device that can access distally to the clot. The device protects the brain during the mechanical thrombectomy procedure from sub-clots by “ensnaring“ the clot and encapsulating it using our PREVA Basket. The PREVA basket allows the complete removal of the clot and its fragments to ensure revascularization of the brain tissue.

    🚨I”m Very excited to share this one: FIRST IN HUMAN USE OF PREVA (Inretio)🚨 57 yo F, mRs 0, NIHSS15. On Coumadin due to mechanical heart valve. INR 1.6. Large amount of clot stuck in the supraclinoid Lt carotid. PREVA was advanced over 3Max just distal to the clot. Red72 was placed proximal to the clot and was connected to the Aspiration pump. 9Fr Merci balloon was inflated at the cervical Carotid. 3 pulls- TICI III. No Spasm. No Dissections. 24hrs follow-up- 1. NIHSS-0! 2. NCCT unremarkable. No white or black new findings. Bonus- PICA originating from the carotid. Disclodure- I’m an advisor to the company, but I think the pictures and clinical outcome speak for themselves.

    PREVA ALERT 60 yo F, Overall healthy. LKW 2 hrs prior to ED admission. NIHSS at least 15 for RT hemiplegia and aphasia. TPA didn’t do the job so decided to perform Thrombectomy. #Aidoc excellent pickup of mid LT M1 occlusion with CTP showing large penumbra with BG small core on my cellphone app. We used: #Walrus BGC, RED72 over 3Max to cross the Occlusion. #Preva 4mm by #Inretio was deployed distal to the clot and then caged the clot combined with distal aspiration and proximal flow arrest- TICI III. 24 and 72hrs control NCCT revealed evolving BG stroke, as predicted by #Aidoc CTP. small hemorrhagic conversion. No SAH. Patient was discharged with NIHSS of 0.

It underscores the potential impact that Inretio can have on improving patient outcomes and quality of life.   The human study at Sheba Hospital will commence in November 2023, and we are committed to ensuring its successful completion.
