What can startup founders learn from sports psychology to create successful startups? 🏃 Armando González, Psy.D. (aka Dr. Mondo), a mental wellness coach to elite athletes, applies his experience to his work with startup founders, drawing many parallels between the experiences of entrepreneurs and high-level athletes. Some of his takeaways include ⬇️ ⛈️ 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘀 Just like athletes, founders must be prepared to face the obstacles of their professions. Focusing on building mental strength and resilience can help prepare them to respond in tough situations. 📈 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 After athletes experience a peak performance or a “flow state,” they can benefit from high performance coaching to help them come down from the high of a big accomplishment. Founders will also experience high and low moments during their career, so managing this psychological come down is crucial to founders as well. 👥 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 Experiencing group flow requires building strong team culture ahead of the big moments like a championship game or VC pitch. A jointly enabled solution by DeepScenario, Intel Ignite Europe batch 4 alumni, and Intel® SceneScape creates 4D digital twins of any parking lot using monocular cameras. DeepScenario uses artificial intelligence to overcome the limitations of current image-based 2D solutions that are widely deployed in public spaces for security and smart city usages. The limitations include a lack of depth information or objects in the foreground occluding the view of objects behind them. DeepScenario delivers 3D computer vision for off-the-shelf 2D cameras, preventing the cost-prohibitive exercise of replacing all the cameras in the system with 3D sensors like LIDARs.
