Navajo Systems’ Virtual Private SaaS (VPS) is a revolutionary solution to cloud data security challenges, allowing organizations to adopt cloud applications without any concerns about data security, data privacy or regulatory restrictions. VPS transparently encrypts all sensitive data before it is transmitted from the client to the server, and allows the data to remain encrypted while at rest on the SaaS application server. End users remain completely unaware of the background encryption/decryption processes, yet their sensitive data is completely unreadable (and therefore meaningless) when stored on the SaaS provider's server. Database theft and identity theft becomes harmless, and regulatory compliance is ensured, as all sensitive data remains undecipherable when transmitted and stored outside the customer organization. While data encryption is not new, the innovations of VPS are threefold: (a) even while the sensitive data remains encrypted at all times on the SaaS application server, key application functionality (e.g., searching, sorting) remains intact; (b) the customer alone holds all the encryption keys (the SaaS vendor has no possibility of decrypting the data stored on their servers) and (c) no modifications whatsoever are required to the cloud application code.
