    Electrostatic dissipative (ESD) plastics Preventing electrostatic electricity (static electricity) in plastic materials is crucial for several reasons, primarily related to safety, product quality, and operational efficiency in various industries. ESD can pose significant safety risks, especially in environments where flammable materials or sensitive electronic components are present. A discharge could ignite flammable gases or dust, leading to fires or explosions. In industries such as chemical processing, electronics manufacturing, and healthcare, preventing static electricity is critical to avoid accidents and injuries. Static electricity can attract dust and particulates to plastic surfaces during manufacturing, assembly, or packaging processes. This attraction can affect the appearance, cleanliness, and functionality of the final products, especially in industries like semiconductor manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and food processing, where contamination can compromise product quality and integrity. Static electricity can damage sensitive equipment and electronic components by causing uncontrolled discharges. In electronic assembly and semiconductor industries, ESD can lead to costly failures of microchips and other electronic devices.     Dr. Ilana Haymov, our VP R&D, and Ms. Maayan Mizrahi Dagan, R&D engineer and project leader at Nemo Nanomaterials, took part in #IPPS 50 at Expo Tel Aviv last week and presented Nemo's unique technology and products. It was a great opportunity to meet colleagues as well as existing and potential customers. The event featured a series of fascinating lectures and a poster presentation session.  IPPS conference is a unique professional event. But not only professional...  This year the organizers and the participants expressed their deepest condolences to the families of the people who were brutally murdered on October 7th and the soldiers and civilians who were killed in the war since. A special memorial ceremony was dedicated to KAFRIT IL Industries workers who were murdered on October 7th. The ceremony began with a heartfelt tribute to the late Nadav Goldstein, honoring his professional achievements and unique contribution to the Israeli industry.  The event was a remarkable and inspiring occasion!

    NemoBLEND™ - electrical conductivity and EMI shielding in plastics. SWCNT Blend Masterbatch System NemoBLEND™ masterbatches are designed to achieve controlled electrical conductivity in thermoplastic polymers. They are based on well-dispersed single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNT) blended in a polymer carrier. A conductive polymer containing carbon nanotubes (CNT) and exhibiting attenuation properties could be utilized in various applications, particularly in electronics and telecommunications. Carbon nanotubes are known for their excellent electrical conductivity and mechanical strength, making them valuable additives in polymer matrices to enhance their conductive properties. The addition of CNTs to polymers can result in materials with tunable electrical conductivity, allowing for the creation of conductive paths within the polymer matrix. This conductivity can be exploited for applications such as flexible electronics, electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding, and electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection. Moreover, the attenuation properties of such material could make it suitable for applications where electromagnetic waves need to be absorbed or blocked. This could include electromagnetic shielding in electronic devices or telecommunications equipment, where the material's ability to absorb or reflect electromagnetic radiation is crucial for preventing interference and ensuring proper functioning of sensitive electronic components.
