🍽️ The link between food insecurity and life expectancy is a stark reminder of the impact our access to adequate food can have on health. A recent study in JAMA Internal Medicine reveals that individuals with very low food security lived 4.5 years less after turning 50 than those with full food security. Half of this lost life expectancy was attributed to cardiovascular disease and cancer. The findings emphasize the need to address this prevalent issue for improved public health.
