One of my main duties is cutting ADR, and being able to cut both tracks of ADR into phase-aligned dialogue gives me the flexibility to blend boom and lav without worrying about phase issues. It sets up the dialogue mixer for easy success as well. When balance and EQ is the mixer’s only worry, they are allowed to mix creatively instead of fighting technical issues.
